As in the past, we continue to apply for grants from major funding institutions,
though in common with other organizations working in the Andean regions
of Peru we find such funds increasingly hard to obtain. In part this is
the result of Peru being classed statistically as a middle-income country
following the progress of its economy in recent years. However, the highland
communities whom we are trying to serve have not shared in the economic
benefits enjoyed by those living on the coast. Many are still officially
defined as living in conditions of “extreme poverty”.
To maintain our work to improve the lives of these communities, to find solutions
to the effects of climate change and to promote responsible stewardship
of the Andean environment, we rely crucially on the generosity of existing and new
friends and upon voluntary help.
The following are the ways in which assistance
would be particularly welcome:
Making a Donation
Donate Online:This can be done through "Just Giving", a well-known agency who provide an efficient,
secure way for charities to receive donations. They accept all major credit or debit cards and,
if you are a UK taxpayer, we will receive 28% Gift Aid in addition to your donation.
So, if you were to donate £100 we would receive £128.21 with no extra cost or time involved.

Send a Cheque:
Please send us a cheque payable to "The Cusichaca Trust" and post to:
St. Peter's, Farm Lane, Crawley, Witney, Oxon OX29 9TL.
If you are a UK tax-payer and would like the Cusichaca Trust to be able to claim
Gift Aid with your donation, please enclose a completed Gift Aid form. Forms are
easily downloadable from the internet via hmrc.gov.uk/charities
If you are kind enough to support us we would of course be happy to discuss where
your money might go and provide progress reports on how it is being used.
Voluntary Help We very much appreciate interested voluntary assistance.
Co-ordinated professional or graduate support in the field or laboratory
can be extremely valuable and in the UK we are often grateful for help,
especially if you have experience as an administrator, fund-raiser, as an
archivist (to help with the Trust's substantial and scientifically valuable
Andean archive) or in web-site development.
